I had an issue with a girl I worked with at one point and it caused me to stop speaking with her and even with necessary work related matters I was cold towards her. As time went on I started to realize how petty the whole thing was and apologized to her. Have to say it was a wonderful moment of relief after getting it off my chest. The best part though was she understood where I was coming from and we moved on from the incident and I still get along well with her. I bring this up because with your friend being a former JW, she knows all too well how this religion works and likely will be completely understanding of where you're coming from. I say like others mentioned, say hi, wsup, let her know where you stand at on this religion, etc..

I need some advice please!!! I'm torn on what to do.
by Gojira_101 inthis morning i woke up thinking about a friend of mine, i will call her sara...here's some of the back story.. we grew up together and have always been good friends, even though we wouldn't stay in touch, we would just pick up where we left off.
sara has always been different, and i never really knew what it was growing up, but i didn't care, she was my friend.
so we lost touch for many years and then about 4 yrs ago when i went back to my home town, we reconnected.

David would be the one I'd mention as others have already stated. Warmonger, Premeditated Murderer, Adulterer, probable fornicator, etc.. Granted the warmonger aspect of his life can be debated as they were surrounded by enemies although one has to wonder how much that was a result of Israel's own aggression. The WT even puts it as his aggression was necessary to establish Israel's borders. Funny how he wasn't allowed to have a hand in building the temple because he had too much blood on his hands. Makes me wonder if there were multiple hands involved with writing that piece of history. He was sick and weak at the time when he expressed interest in building the temple. Possibly too weak and vulnerable to argue with the priestly class at the time.
Rahab was possibly a prostitute and a traitor, sold out her own people. The Bible indicates that what she did was honorable and she was blessed with becoming a part of Jesus' lineage. My personal opinion is that the victors write history and she's given special recognition for selling out her own people.

the front of the flyer has a well-groomed, caucasian jesus, leading all the minority people somewhere .
most likely to a factory in brooklyn to serve as slaves for a publishing company.. curiously, there is no mention of jehovah's witnesses anywhere on the face of that flyer.

Has the title "Jehovah's Witnesses" ever been prominently displayed on previous invitations? I can't recall. I don't see why they would go out of their way to hide "Jehovah's Witnesses" when people know who it is that shows up on a Saturday/Sunday morning handing them the invitation.

What do they want from me?
